Pairing QMotion’s QIS Shades with Vantage Controls for Advanced Lighting Solutions

Giving smart blinds their “wow” treatment

One of the driving forces of innovation at Legrand is asking: how can we take the complex and make it simple and elegant? It’s the core of what we strive for in all our products, and the result is something makes our customers say, “wow.”

That’s the reaction we’re seeing with our newest innovation in QMotion hardwired and ZigBee Home Automation v1.2 battery motorized roller shades: the QMotion’s Qadvanced Intelligent System (QIS).

QIS features and accessories include single or dual hardwired switches, multichannel remotes, 2-way communication, patented manual override, and low power consumption for maximum energy savings. QIS interfaces with the leading home automation systems, including Vantage Controls, Control4, Elan, RTI, Savant, and more.

But it’s the integration with Vantage that really makes the “wow” moment come alive.

Enhancing the “Networked Home” with better control

Bundling QIS shades with Vantage Control’s lighting solution delivers an unmatched and uncomplicated –active and natural lighting system.

Furthermore, full software integration allows for quicker setup and provides an enhanced user experience. For example, features like automatic shade identification provide faster and easier programming of shades and shade groups.

Offering such a specific level of control over every aspect of the networked home is what Legrand looks to bring to new construction and retrofit projects. The moment the shades get in synch with the rest of the home is when we know you’ll have the “wow” moment too.

QIS Technology: retrofit-friendly, battery-operated options and Roller shades

Unique to QMotion’s system, the hardwired configuration utilizes standard cat 5e or cat 6 cabling for power and communication, eliminating the additional expense of proprietary cabling. In addition, QMotion now offers adapters enabling the QIS products to operate through most pre-wired systems. That means customers don’t have to rewire to enjoy the exclusive features of QMotion shades.

And for customers needing a wireless, battery operated shade with 2-way communication, QMotion provides the Qadvanced with ZigBee Home Automation v1.2 motorized shades, engineered with native ZigBee specifications.

This solution is ideal for retrofit installations. Qadvanced with ZigBee HA1.2 are the only battery operated shades available that have built in ZigBee capabilities without the need of additional plugins, which is another industry exclusive for QMotion.

QMotion’s hardwired and battery shades can be operated using QdR wireless remotes. Improving signal strength and range, the stylish and smaller remote utilizes five channels for easy programming.

Also, QMotion Roller Shades are designed for a customized experience. Numerous options are available from standard or reverse roll and for fabrics and fascia to accentuate any décor.

Designing for customer delight

Legrand’s Building Control Systems division, which includes leading brands QMotion, Solarfective, Vantage, and Wattstopper offers the industry’s best and broadest selection of integrated and proven automated lighting control and advanced shading solutions for residential and commercial applications.

QMotion continues to deliver the exclusive features that customers want including quiet motors, long battery life, multichannel remotes, patented manual override, and integration with the leading automation systems. For more information about QMotion, visit QMotionShades.com.
